Terms of Service

Effective date: September 6, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the FirmLink API, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

FirmLink provides programmatic access to publicly available U.S. business entity records via a REST API. Data is sourced from official state and federal public records. FirmLink is a data access service — it does not create, verify, or certify business records.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and API keys. Keep your API keys confidential. If you suspect unauthorized use, revoke your keys immediately from the dashboard.

You must be at least 18 years old to use FirmLink.

4. Permitted Use

You may use FirmLink data for lawful business purposes, including due diligence, business intelligence, compliance research, application development, and data enrichment.

5. Prohibited Use

You may not use FirmLink to:

  • Resell or redistribute raw FirmLink data as a competing data product without prior written permission
  • Violate any applicable law, including privacy laws and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls
  • Use automated means to extract data beyond what your tier's API access permits
  • Harass, stalk, or target individuals using the data
  • Create profiles of private individuals for purposes unrelated to legitimate business research

6. Payments and Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. Prices are displayed at checkout; the actual billed amount is listed in the pricing details.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not issue prorated refunds for unused time on monthly plans. Annual plans may be eligible for a prorated refund within 14 days of purchase — contact us at [email protected] to request one.

7. Data Accuracy

FirmLink data is sourced from public records and is provided "as is." We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of business records. Do not rely solely on FirmLink data for legal, financial, or compliance decisions without independent verification.

8. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, push updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for damages resulting from service interruptions.

9. Intellectual Property

The FirmLink platform, codebase, and branding are the property of FirmLinkAPI. Public records data accessed through the API is sourced from government sources and is not owned by FirmLink. You retain ownership of any applications you build using the API.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your API keys are immediately revoked.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FirmLinkAPI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email address on your account or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
